Happy Thanksgiving

I'm thankful for:
the Texan
my family
friends and loved ones - those with us and those that have gone on ahead of us
the beautiful awesome wondrous world we inhabit
that I have a job
being able to run
the women and men of the US military
baked goods
the thousands of pilots that will safely move us all around this holiday weekend

I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

I love hay.

It looks cool in all it's phases. It smells good. I even tasted some recently. I know that sounds silly, but if you are going to grow and sell the stuff, shouldn't you know how it tastes? In case you were wondering, it tastes verdant.
Hay equipment is pretty cool too.

Guess it's good I live on a hay farm, huh?

Equines and Ruminants

On my way to work the other day I saw two horses under a tree and I thought it was quite scenic. So I pulled over and hopped out of my car. The noise caused the horses to glance at me, but they quickly looked back towards my right, as they are in this picture.

I followed their gaze and saw these guys headed my way.

And after all that excitement. The two horses were still hanging out under the tree. What a life.

Faux Fall Foliage

Sometimes the fall colors are a little anemic here.

Sometimes they need a little digital help.

One day I will visit the Lost Maples during the fall. Then I may have a little more appreciation for what we call 'Fall' here in Texas.

Country Humor

I like to think I have a very mature, cultured sense of humor. But there is this. . .

I dirive by this almost every day. And every time I see this I smile a bit and a tune pops into my head.

Curiosity Killed the Cat*

*No animals were harmed in the production of this blog.

In case you're wondering. I'm guessing it was a rat snake. Also, the cat was way more interested in the snake than vice versa. It was a fairly cool day so the snake was moving pretty slowly. I wish I had gotten a picture of it, but the cat was pawing at the snake.

Thanks, Mr Spider and all your friends.

Northerners get to go out in fresh snow and leave the first set of footprints. I have dew. . .
